Rep. Debbie Mucarsel-Powell is a first generation American and a champion for Florida working families. Born in Ecuador, Debbie immigrated to the U.S. at the age of fourteen with her mother and three sisters seeking economic opportunity. She defeated incumbent Republican Rep. Carlos Curbelo, one of the most vulnerable GOP incumbents seeking re-election in 2018. Debbie serves on the Committee on the Judiciary and the Committee on Transportation & Infrastructure, and is a member of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus.
