How does a political action committee work?

To support Bend the Arc Jewish Action PAC’s work, you can either make a contribution to one of our endorsed candidates or contribute directly to the PAC and we will see to it that your gift goes toward an endorsee’s campaign that is need of resources.

What does it mean to be a member of Bend the Arc Jewish Action?

Becoming a member of Bend the Arc Jewish Action is completely free and allows us to stay in touch with you regarding electoral updates as the election cycle progresses. It also means that you’re standing with us in creating the first ever Jewish political outlet exclusively geared toward domestic progress.

Are there limits to how much I can contribute?

Individuals are permitted to contribute up to $2,700 to a candidate toward both the primary and general elections (for a grand total of $5,400 throughout the election cycle) and $5,000 to the PAC in each year of a given election cycle. There is no longer a limit on how much aggregate political giving an individual can do over an election cycle.

Why is political giving important?

Campaigns are expensive these days and candidates need to spend a lot of time raising money. By acting collectively to back candidates who speak out for our values, we can help ensure they remain independent voices for change and don’t need to lean on well monied special interests to get re-elected.

How are candidates selected?

Bend the Arc Jewish Action PAC supports candidates who stand with us for equal rights, economic justice and a fair and welcoming America. Candidates are selected for endorsement based on a demonstrated track record of advocating for these principles.

Is my contribution tax deductible?

No. Contributions to Bend the Arc Jewish Action PAC and endorsees are not deductible for tax purposes.

How can I join the Leadership Committee of Bend the Arc Jewish Action PAC?

Bend the Arc Jewish Action PAC’s  Leadership Committee ensures our endorsees have the resources they need to be voices for progress in Washington, D.C. Leadership Committee members are partners in developing the PAC’s strategy and commit to contributing a certain amount to our endorsees over the two year election cycle, ranging from $1,800+ to $50,000+.
